The Repercussions of Two Way Communications with Jesus

Greetings, brothers and sisters. This is Dr. James Perry continuing with our series where we seek to
explore the deeper meanings of our relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the years, the heavenly
Father has revealed many revelations of spiritual truth to me, and I want to share them with you. This
morning we seek to understand the repercussion of two way communications with Jesus.

And now, sit back and listen to today's message.

The Repercussions of Consistent Two Way Communication with Jesus

Jesus said, "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will
come unto him, and make our abode with him." John, Chapter 14, Verse 23.

Brothers and sisters, today we shall examine the repercussions of consistent two way communication
with Jesus through His Spirit of Truth. We shall look at the personal repercussions as well as the non
personal effects of this communications. We shall show how these communications slowly and
gradually bring about their effects. In this connection, we shall also look at the role that faith and
desire play. In a sense this is a continuation of the previous broadcast where we established the truth
and fact of two way spiritual communications.

It is said that the Grand Canyon is the result of erosion, the effect of water running over a flat surface
for many thousands of years. There was an interplay of influence by the soil and the water. Water
always follows the path of least resistance, and its drag across a surface is such that it gradually
wears the surface down. In the case where the surface is bordered by rock, it will gradually wear
away the surface between the rock until it get to a new surface of rock.

In the spiritual arena, a similar interplay of spiritual forces interact, influencing its object, revealing
its ultimate potential. In the spiritual arena spiritual forces are desirous of passing through our minds
and souls outward to influence other minds and souls, to stimulate those other minds and souls to
induce them to do the same thing-to allow spiritual influences to pass through them. But in this
situation, free will operates as a switch, controlling when, where, and to what extent the flow of
spiritual values will take place. But each time a switch of human will allows the flow of spiritual
values to pass through it, the channel gets larger and larger, deeper and deeper. As it flows through
the channel opened by the will, debris of evil are swept away. Little by little the debris of evil is
gradually removed from the channel of our minds and souls, so that eventually, the flow of spiritual
values encounters no resistance. As the will continues to allow the spiritual values to flow through,
a spiritual character gradually builds up, one that has the power to subdue the material nature. The
material nature is still there but is in effective subordination to the spiritual nature.

As the two-way communication continues, the soul comes to know the Father's will more.
Sometimes the communication may just be a display of the divine character which will catch the eye
of someone who is desirous of having that peace that passes all understanding. Sometimes it may
be an act of kindness or mercy. And then again it may be an ear that is willing to listen without
judgment; it may be a word of encouragement or a pat on the shoulder.

These communications take various forms on the inside. Sometimes they may be verbal on the
human side as the communications are expressed audibly. Very seldom and rarely does Jesus himself
speak verbally to the material mind. But we know that he does at times as when he spoke to Adam
and Eve and Saint Paul. We don't know the rules governing these verbal communications from Jesus.
More often it is his Spirit of Truth that acts on our thoughts, desires, and attitudes. This is more
effective communication despite the desire of the material mind for verbal confirmation of verbal
exchange. This is so because the object of all communication is to convey understanding of what the
other person is thinking, and to cause the other person to respond in a fashion that signals that the
communication has been received. Now the Spirit of Truth operates above the material level. It
operates directly on the desires, thoughts and attitudes, modifying them or elevating them, sometimes
intensifying them. The effect of this effort is to cause the person to react in such a way that signifies
that he has received the intended communication.

Moreover, it is better to apply the communication where it is needed rather than to have it filtered
through the material mind and altered in the process. The material mind is not always the best
mechanism for communicating with the divine spirit. Confusion, anxiety, depressions, distractions,
pain and suffering all affect the ability of the material mind to function, but these states can have no
effect on spiritual communications since they are based solely upon the desire of the individual. And
eventually this two-way communication of values will clear the confusion, disperse the anxiety, lift
the depression, remove the distractions, and transcend all pain and suffering.

Again this brings faith into play from the conscious perspective. Since the reception of the
communication is not likely to be received verbally, it becomes a part of the subjective experience,
intertwined with the thoughts, emotions, desires and attitudes of the self. Divine communications
equate with values and are recognized by their quality. It is the quality of the divine communication
rather than the quantity or any material identification that separates the divine from the human. There
just is no way around the necessity of receiving divine communications (values) by faith. As long
as our souls are harbored in the material mind, there is no way around this problem. In the meantime
we must trust in the goodness of God that these essential communications are taking place. Thus the
desire to communicate becomes the proof of existence, along with the wholehearted desire to do the
Father's will, which is manifested by a continuous display of the fruits of the spirit.

This concludes today's message on understanding the repercussion of consistent two way
communication with Jesus. We hope you find something in this message to ponder and pray about
as you go about your day. Until next time, this is Dr. James Perry.
