Who Will Reveal the Father

Greetings and good morning brothers and sisters. This is Dr. James Perry continuing with our series where we seek to explore the deeper meanings of our relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the years, the heavenly Father has revealed many revelations of spiritual truth to me, and I want to share them with you. This morning we will ponder our lives as we seek to understand the meaning of revealing the Spiritual Father.

And now, sit back and listen to today's message.

Who Will Reveal the spiritual Father

Jesus said, “ . . .He that hast seen me hath seen the Father; believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth th works. I am my Father are one.” John, Chapter 10, Verse 30 and John Chapter 14 Verse 9 and 10.

Brothers and sisters, in today’s broadcast, we illustrate the qualities that reveal the spiritual Father. We shall use several fictional characters to demonstrate the meanings involved in revealing the Father through His Son, Jesus. Let us begin.

Before the bestowal of Jesus, there was no way the Father could be revealed to mortal man. The prophets sought in vain for the Father, but could not find Him in personality manifestation. Then came Jesus, the divine Son of the Father incarnate in the flesh who revealed the loving character of the Father to mortal man. Subsequently after his return to the Father, he sent His Spirit of Truth to reveal the Father anew in the lives of all believers. And now He asks the question: Who will allow the Father to be revealed?

The call spreads throughout the earth. The response varies from nil to enthusiastic God fearing believers up through Father knowing and Father loving believers. Freddy flesh does not hear anything nor does he see anything. He is so busy responding to the needs of his flesh that he is unable to conceive of anything spiritual. He is enslaved by his pursuits of the sensual gratification, ego tripping, vanity, revenge, selfishness, hate, greed, anger, jealousy, and at his ceaseless efforts to keep his body in top notch condition.

Mike Materialism, who has managed to accumulate large numbers of material things, has a wife of whom he is very proud, two outstanding children who are very successful, two Rolls Royces, and a Mercedes Bentz, a very luxurious home, and excellent health. He is very grateful to the Father for giving him these many things. He says to his neighbors that if they will only live right, the Father will give them these things too, for God is good. Did he not say that "I have come that you may have life, and have it more abundantly?" His revelation of the Father through the pursuit of materialism reveals that the Father is non existent.

Following closely on the heels of Mike Materialism, in sweeps Sam Selfishness. He tries to reveal the Father by grabbing everything that he can get his hands on. He promises to reveal the dazzling splendor of the Father's love, but can not bring himself to share the Father. He says his needs are great; therefore he requires more. He has locked the Father's love up in his heart, and stands guard day and night to make sure it does not escape. When he goes to check on the Father's love, he finds that it has died. The only thing that he displays is the sorrow and disappointment of a funeral.

After the funeral, being late and always in hurry, Rosy emotionalism bursts upon the scene with glowing promises and reports. "Oh! The Father is so good.", she cries. "When I hear that absolute truth and see that beauty, Oh! I feel can not stand it," she bubbles out. Sometimes she gets so excited that she does not have time to allow the qualities of truth, beauty, and goodness to sink very deep into her soul. She burns herself out in utter exhaustion, and fades from the scene to recuperate, but promises to return with even greater revelations of the Father' love. The Father never did get through long enough for anyone to really grasp his love.

Poised and cool, Ivan Intellect steps forth with his amazing grasp of facts about the Father's love. He uses logic, deduction, and induction to prove the reality of the Father's love. He gives everything but himself in his efforts to reveal the Father's love, but his facts are cold and devoid of life, and can not show love, patience, mercy, or forgiveness. He is involved in the sincere but disappointing attempt to reveal the living Father through dead facts.

Weary and worn under countless duties, Mark Morality struggles forth. He has been led by his conscience. He tries to reveal the Father by carrying out his moral duties. He is the pillar of the community. One can count on him to come through someway or somehow. But the burden he carries without love soon grinds him to the ground with the ball and chain of moral slavery. He would reveal the Father, if he could only raise his head high enough above the ground of moral slavery. The Father never gets very far from the ground of moral slavery.

With friendly greeting, Bob Brother strolls in. He lives by the golden rule. He treats everyone the way he would like to be treated. He likes to be treated with kindness so he treats everyone kindly. He appears to reveal the Father's love as long as people love him back in return. But when he runs into an evildoer and is required to show love, mercy and forgiveness, strangely the Father's love vanishes just as quickly as it appeared.

Uttering profound thoughts, and appearing to be looking just this side of eternity, Willie Wise eventuates on the scene. His wisdom appears long before he does. When he appears on the scene, it really looks as if the Father has truly arrived. He loves everybody. When anyone mistreats him, he never acts hastily. He always retreats into deep study and consultations with his unbiased colleagues, and only after long and sincere discussion does he arrive at a just verdict of what should be done to the wrongdoer. Everybody agrees that his actions are just, and in certain selected cases, he even shows mercy. He is always patient until he has thought things through. But somehow, Willie Wise does not give hope to the struggling soul. The Father is almost revealed, but never quite comes through. One get the impression that the Father may appear any moment.

Finally naturally devoid of the world's wisdom, and over much teaching, little old Sally Spirit emerges on the scene. No one knows where she came from or where she is going. She is never in a hurry, never worried. She is loving, kind, patient, and merciful. She is quick to forgive, as well as to seek forgiveness. No matter how she is treated, she always responds with more love, more patience, more mercy, and more forgiveness. She sprinkles the salt of love in just the right amount on the meat of evil. She does not appear to consult with any humans, but says and does some of the most profound things. She declares that through Jesus, she and the Father are one. She acts as if she already has eternal life, and does not seem to be seriously disturbed by losses, but always cries that nothing of spiritual value is ever lost.

She appears to be in contact with someone super human, and talks about the Father as if He were actually present. She always exerts good in the face of evil, truth in the place of error, and beauty in the face of ugliness. She appears to be filled with some kind of radiant light that is so comforting to everyone whom she looks upon.

She treats everyone the way she thinks the Father treats them, with a Fatherly love rather than a brotherly love. When asked abut the problem of injustice, she responds that justice never destroys that which mercy can save. She is filled with faith and trust, even hope, and contaminates all truth hungry souls with this same kind of faith and trust. It is not uncommon for people to say that she seems more and more like Jesus everyday. And the heavenly host agrees, and says, “look at Jesus.”

This concludes today message on understanding the meaning of revealing the spiritual Father. We hope you find something in this message to pray about as you go about your day.

Until next time, this is Dr. James Perry.
